Quick Start Guide
Get your rental business up and running on RecSystems in just 15 minutes. This guide walks you through the essential setup to start accepting bookings.
Before You Begin
You'll need:
- Your business information (name, address, contact details)
- At least one rental item to add
- A few minutes of uninterrupted time
Step 1: Complete Your Business Profile (3 min)
Your business profile appears on your booking website and customer communications.
- Go to Account โ Account Info in the navbar
- Fill in your Business Information:
- Business name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Click Save
Tip: Add your logo too โ it makes your booking page look professional.
Step 2: Add Your First Fleet (3 min)
Fleets help you organize similar rental items together.
- Go to Account โ Fleets in the navbar
- Click + New Fleet
- Enter a name for your fleet (e.g., Pontoon Boats or Golf Carts)
- Add a brief description
- Click Create Fleet
Step 3: Add a Rental Unit (5 min)
Now add at least one rental item to your fleet.
- From your fleet page, click + Add Unit
- Fill in the basic details:
- Name: Give it a unique name customers will see (e.g., 22ft Party Pontoon)
- Description: Highlight key features and what makes it great
- Add photos (at least one โ more is better!)
- Set the Base Price for your most common rental duration
- Click Save
Tip: You can always add more details later. For now, focus on the basics.
Step 4: Set Your Schedule (3 min)
Tell RecSystems when this unit is available.
Recommended: Go to Account โ Timeslots โ Guided Wizard, describe your rental day (hours, durations, prices), and let Rex build your schedule. See the Timeslot Wizard guide.
Or set up manually:
- From your unit page, click Availability
- Choose your rental schedule:
- Hourly: Customers book by the hour
- Half-day: Morning or afternoon slots
- Full-day: All-day rentals
- Multi-day: Overnight or longer rentals
- Set your operating hours
- Click Save
Step 5: Test Your Booking Page (1 min)
See what your customers will experience.
- Click View in the top navigation bar to open your booking engine
- Your booking page opens in a new tab
- Try searching for available dates
- Walk through the booking flow (you can cancel the test booking later)

Congratulations! You now have a working booking system. Customers can:
- View your inventory
- Check availability
- Make reservations
- Pay online
