Timeslot Wizard
Setting rental schedules used to mean clicking through long forms for every hourly slot, daily package, and price connection. The Timeslot Wizard lets you describe how you rent — like you would at the counter — and Rex builds the whole schedule for you to review.
When to Use the Wizard
| Use the wizard when… | Use manual timeslots when… |
|---|---|
| You're setting up for the first time | You're tweaking one small detail |
| You offer several durations (half-day, full-day, weekend) | You need a single one-off schedule |
| You want Rex to suggest prices per unit | You prefer full manual control |
Open the Wizard
- Go to Account → Timeslots in the navbar
- Click Guided Wizard (or Create via Wizard if you have no timeslots yet)
You can also reach it from Create in the navbar → Timeslot card.
Step 1: Describe
Tell Rex how your rentals work. Include whatever you know:
- Operating hours (e.g., 9am–5pm)
- Rental lengths (2 hours, half-day, full day, weekend)
- Turnaround or cleanup time between rentals
- Season (May–October)
- Ballpark prices ($250 half-day, $400 full day)
Click Generate my schedule, pick an example prompt, choose a preset, or let Rex suggest a schedule from your fleet.
Tip: More detail in your description means fewer edits on the next step.
Step 2: Plan
Rex shows a draft of your timeslots — names, hours, duration options, and active days.
- Expand each card to see the timeline for that day
- Edit anything that doesn't match your operation
- Remove options you don't offer
When the plan looks right, continue to pricing.
Step 3: Pricing
Set the price for each unit on each timeslot. If you mentioned prices in your description, Rex may pre-fill them.
- Enter amounts in dollars (what customers pay)
- Different units can have different prices on the same schedule
- Package options (Weekend, Week) get their own price per unit
Step 4: Review
See everything you're about to create:
- Timeslot names and settings
- Duration options
- Units and prices attached
Click Create to publish. Rex confirms when your schedule is live.
After the Wizard
Your new timeslots appear on the Account → Timeslots matrix where you can:
- Archive schedules you no longer offer
- Adjust prices in bulk
- Add more units to an existing schedule
For day-to-day edits to one field, the regular Add Timeslot form still works.
Common Questions
Can customers book immediately?
Yes — the wizard connects units and prices so schedules are bookable as soon as you finish.
What if I only need one timeslot?
Use Add Timeslot on the timeslots page, or run the wizard and delete extra drafts on the Plan step.
Does Rex replace my existing schedules?
No. The wizard creates new timeslots. Your existing schedules stay until you archive them.
