Adding a New Location
This guide walks you through creating a new pickup/return location in RecSystems. You'll create the basic location first, then add details like address and contact information.
Before You Start
Before adding a location, you'll need:
- Location name — A clear, recognizable name
- Location fee — Base delivery/pickup fee (can be $0)
Creating a New Location
Step 1: Navigate to Locations
From the navbar, click Account → Locations. You'll see a list of your existing locations.
Step 2: Click New location
Click the New location link at the top of the page.
Step 3: Enter Basic Information
Fill in the creation form:

Naming tips:
- Use names customers will recognize
- Be specific if you have multiple locations
- Include area or landmark references
Step 4: Create the Location
Submit the form to create the location.
Adding Location Details
After creating the basic location, click Edit to add complete information.
Location Address
Expand the Location Address section and enter:

Why address matters:
- Enables map display for customers
- Provides directions link
- Required for distance-based delivery fee calculations
GPS Coordinates
For precise mapping, add:
- Latitude — e.g., 30.2672
- Longitude — e.g., -97.7431
Contact Information
Help customers reach this location:

SEO Details
For search engine optimization:
- SEO Title — Page title for search results
- Meta Description — Description shown in search results

Add detailed information:
- Headline — Marketing headline for the location
- Detailed Overview — Full description for customers
Delivery Pricing
Configure delivery fees:
Base Delivery Fee:
- The flat fee charged for this location
Mileage Add-On:
- Toggle to add per-mile charges on top of base fee
- Set per-mile rate
- Set free miles included in base fee
Example pricing:
- Base fee: $20
- Per-mile rate: $3.75
- Free miles: 5
- Result: 12 miles away = $20 base + (12-5) × $3.75 = $46.25
Location Images
Upload photos to help customers find you:
- Exterior of the building
- Parking area
- The actual pickup spot
- Signage or landmarks
Status
- Location is Active? — Toggle ON to make visible to customers
Save Changes
Click Save to save all your edits.
Assigning Units to the Location
After configuring the location, assign units from the main Locations page:
- Go to Account → Locations
- Find your location
- Use the unit checkboxes to assign which units are available at this location
Managing Multiple Locations
If you have multiple locations:
Organization Tips
- Use clear, distinct names
- Include area or landmark references
- Consider a naming convention (e.g., North Marina, South Marina)
Fee Considerations
- Different locations can have different base fees
- Delivery locations might have mileage fees
- Main locations might be free ($0)
Editing Locations
To edit an existing location:
- Go to Account → Locations
- Click Edit next to the location
- Make your changes across any section
- Click Save
What you can change:
- Name and description
- Address and contact info
- Delivery fees and mileage settings
- Images
- Active status
Note: Existing bookings keep their original location information. Changes only affect new bookings.
Troubleshooting
Customers can't see my location
- Verify the location is Active (toggle is ON)
- Check that units are assigned
- Ensure assigned units are also published
Address not showing on map
- Verify the address is complete and correct
- Include city, state, and ZIP
- Try adding GPS coordinates
Can't assign units
- Create the location first
- Units must exist before assignment
- Check unit isn't archived
