You can create gift cards for customers and promotional codes for marketing campaigns. Here's how to create each type.

Types You Can Create

From Account → Gift Cards, click New to see these options:

Type Description Use Case
Gift Card Prepaid card with stored dollar value (e.g., $50, $100). Customer pays upfront, recipient redeems toward rentals. Customer purchases, phone orders
Coupon Percentage-based discounts (e.g., 15% off). Reusable until expiration date. Marketing campaigns, loyalty rewards

Tip: Not sure which to choose? Use Coupons for percentage discounts, Discount Codes for fixed amounts.


Creating a Gift Card

For customer purchases (phone orders, in-person sales):

Step 1: Go to Gift Cards

Navigate to Account → Gift Cards in the navbar.

Step 2: Click New

Click New to open the type selection.

Step 3: Select Gift Card

Choose Gift Card from the options.

Step 4: Enter Amount

Enter the dollar value:

  • Common amounts: $50, $100, $150, $200
  • Or enter a custom amount

Recipient Email Who receives the gift card

For percentage-based promotions:

Step 1: Go to Gift Cards

Navigate to Account → Gift Cards in the navbar.

Step 2: Click New

Step 3: Select Coupon

Choose Coupon from the options.

Codes are generated automatically when you save:

  • Can be viewed on the detail page after creation
