Quick Answer
To create your first fleet, go to Inventory, click New Fleet, enter a name and description, then click Create Fleet.

Adding Your First Fleet

Fleets help you organize your rental inventory into logical groups. Before adding individual rental items, you'll create at least one fleet to contain them.

What is a Fleet?

A fleet is a category or group of similar rental items. Think of it as a folder that holds related equipment.

Examples:

  • Pontoon Boats — Contains all your pontoon boats
  • Fishing Boats — Contains bass boats and fishing vessels
  • Golf Carts — Contains all golf cart rentals
  • Kayaks & Paddleboards — Contains water sports equipment

Why Use Fleets?

Organization

Group similar items together for easier management.

Customer Experience

Customers can browse by category on your booking site.

Consistent Categorization

Units within a fleet share common characteristics, making it easier to manage similar items.

Reporting

See performance by fleet to understand which categories perform best.

Creating Your First Fleet

Step 1: Go to Fleet Hub

Click Account → Fleets in the navbar, or access via Account Info → Fleets & Units in the sidebar menu.

Step 2: Click New Fleet

Click the New Fleet link at the top of the page.

Step 3: Enter Fleet Details

Fleet Name (Required)
Choose a clear, customer-friendly name.

Good examples:

  • Pontoon Boats
  • 4-Seater UTVs
  • Electric Golf Carts

Avoid:

  • Internal codes like Fleet A or Category 1
  • Overly long names

Description (Recommended)
Write a brief description of this fleet. This appears on your booking site.

Example:

Our pontoon boats are perfect for family outings, parties, and relaxing days on the lake. All boats include safety equipment and a full tank of gas.

Step 4: Create the Fleet

Click Create Fleet. You'll be taken to your new fleet's page.

Fleet Settings

After creating your fleet, you can configure additional settings:

Description

Add a compelling description of this fleet category. This appears on your booking site and helps customers understand what makes these rentals special.

Add-ons

Associate common add-ons with this fleet. Units in the fleet can inherit these add-on options.

Adding Units to Your Fleet

Now that you have a fleet, add your rental items:

  1. From your fleet page, click + Add Unit
  2. Enter unit details (name, description, photos)
  3. Set pricing and availability
  4. Click Save

See Adding Rental Units for detailed instructions.

Organizing Multiple Fleets

When to Create Separate Fleets

Create separate fleets when items:

  • Have significantly different pricing
  • Appeal to different customer types
  • Require different rental durations
  • Have different equipment types

When to Keep Items Together

Keep items in the same fleet when they:

  • Are interchangeable for customers
  • Have similar pricing
  • Are booked for similar purposes

Example Fleet Structure

Here's how a marina might organize their inventory:

📁 Pontoon Boats
   ├── 22ft Party Pontoon
   ├── 24ft Luxury Pontoon
   └── 20ft Fishing Pontoon

📁 Speedboats
   ├── 19ft Ski Boat
   └── 21ft Wake Boat

📁 Personal Watercraft
   ├── Jet Ski #1
   ├── Jet Ski #2
   └── Jet Ski #3

📁 Kayaks & Paddleboards
   ├── Single Kayak (x5)
